Through our ONE STEP AHEAD PROGRAM, we identify potential problems before they become real problems.

Besides regular site inspections, we use Facility Benchmarks to track key quality indicators. One of the causes of falling, we’ve found, is walking without shoes. So we make sure our residents wear the proper footwear all the time. If that’s not staying one step ahead, what is?

By keeping the communication lines open, Our Care Line and Customer Service Program also play a big part in risk assessment.

Safety Program



Safety First. We can't say it enough. Back-up generators. Patient lifts. Personal alarms. Everything is dedicated to this simple message: safety first.

We have forward thinking programs that provide a safe environment. Such as our GAIT BELT POLICY that was instituted to assist independent residents. And our DRUG FREE WORKPLACE POLICY that requires post-incident drug testing for workers compensation claims. We’re committed to the safety of our residents and employees with repositioning tools and special equipment to prevent friction, strains and pains. We have a full time safety director, a former OSHA surveyor, who makes accident investigations quarterly and shares the resulting information with our other facilities. We continue to be pro-active with policies for shoes, ladders and fleet safety.

Workers Compensation



Reducing injury and reducing loss time. With our STOP PROGRAM, we analyze, investigate and transition people back to work quickly and healthily. That benefits our employees, our facilities and, especially, our residents.

We’re extremely cautious when it comes to injury. When any accident occurs in any facility, a nurse will be assigned to the employee through every step of the recovery. If therapy is required, we’ll find a job to fit their restrictions. So everyone will have a job to come back to.

Our return to work policy works because we make it work

All our facilities are LIFT FREE and we have drug testing to make sure our environment is Drug Free. We have a STOP program stressing safety and listing safe practices in the workplace. We’re doing everything we can for our employees, not because we have to, but because we want to.

That’s what families do.
